Aston Villa manager could be set for summer return to France

gardee43222The Aston Villa fans are competing in a darts tournament in The Transfer Tavern this evening and are discussing reports that their manager could leave the club during the summer.

The Sun is reporting that Remi Garde is wanted back in France to act as a technical director for the French Football Federation- and there is also talk of a return to Lyon, who are eyeing a summer move for their former coach.

Garde has had a torrid time in England since taking over as manager of Aston and has only seen his side win on three occasions since taking over at the club from Tim Sherwood, which sees the club on the brink of relegation from the Premier League for the first time in their history.

Even though he has struggled at the club Villa board member Mervyn King has made it clear that they want the Frenchman to remain with the club, he said

“I very much hope he will at least decide he’d like to be with us. But there are much deeper things to look at. We’re carrying out a review of every aspect of the club.”

As for the Aston Villa fans in The Tavern they would not be surprised to see Garde leave the club in the summer along with a number of underperforming players who have more or less cost the club their top flight status.

Villa fans, do you want Garde to go? Let us know in the comments below!
