After yet another successfully qualifying campaign for England and Roy Hodgson’s men, the boozy fans here in the Transfer Tavern can’t wait to put their differences aside and cheer on the three lions in France next summer.
But as the England coaching staff will be bidding to do everything they can to ensure they reach the later stages of the European Championships, the Telegraph are reporting how Hodgson has come out in search of pinning down one of England’s brightest young talents – who is yet to confirm his allegiance.
Jack Grealish who has previously turned down Martin O’Neil’s offer to play for the Republic of Ireland, is still eligible for the country of his grandparents’ birth, despite being born in England himself.
After a stellar season under Tim Sherwood at Aston Villa, the 19-year-old has been urged to make his mind up by the England boss – suggesting he could be in Hodgson’s plans, especially after the persistent injuries affecting Jack Wilshere!
