The Aston Villa fans in the Transfer Tavern are still in a solemn mood due to their relegation to the Championship.
However some interesting news is coming into the Tavern regarding a managerial appointment.
The Daily Mail reports that former Leicester boss Nigel Pearson is set to hold a second round of talks with Aston Villa. It seems that the club looks to make a managerial appointment sooner rather than later.
With Pearson being tracked by multiple other clubs it seems that Aston Villa feel they need to make a decision soon if they are to get the man they want.
The Daily Mail also reports that Middlesbrough have told Pearson to delay his decision while they discuss their situation with Karanka.
The major complication with a quick managerial appointment is that the club does not know how much money they can spend given their relegation to the Championship.
With the Aston Villa owner Randy Lerner looking to sell the cub it depends on whether a sale for the club can be completed.
