Aston Villa recorded their first Premier League victory since 2015-16 after their clinical performance against Everton.
Villa Park was bouncing from the first minute to the last against the Toffees as Wesley Moraes scored his first goal for the club before Anwar El Ghazi sealed the deal in the 95th minute to make it 2-0.
Dean Smith’s men continued their winning form with a 6-1 demolition over League One side Crewe Alexandra in midweek, but with a tough away trip to Selhurst Park today, Smith has some tough choices to make with many of his players deserving of a spot.
So, how will he line-up his Villa side against Crystal Palace?Neil Taylor has played every minute so far in the Premier League and his 1.7 tackles per game and his 2.3 clearances should make him the first-choice left-back (as per WhoScored.com).
Elsewhere in defence, Tyrone Mings’ sublime performances so far earned him his first England call-up. The former Bournemouth man has won an incredible 10.7 clearances per game [WhoScored.com] after all.
In midfield, Douglas Luiz, John McGinn and Jack Grealish all played a part in controlling the tempo of Villa’s play and each earned themselves a 7.5 against the Toffees.
On the right-hand side, Jota set up Wesley’s opener with a tremendous through ball which cut open the Everton defence. The former Birmingham man bagged himself 11 assists for the Blues last year (as per WhoScored.com) and should keep retain his place.
