Aston Villa set to turn to ex-Ligue 1 boss

Remi GardeAston Villa parted company with Tim Sherwood this afternoon and three Villa supporting punters are having a celebratory round of drinks in the Transfer Tavern.

The lads are sampling a pint of the landlord’s finest real ale and musing over an article in the Daily Mirror that speculates on who the club’s hierarchy will turn to next.

It is thought that Frenchman Remi Garde could be the man tasked with reviving the club’s fortunes with the club currently languishing at the bottom of the Premier League.

Garde has been out of work since leaving Lyon and it is thought that he has already held talks with the West Midlands outfit about taking the now vacant position.

He isn’t the only man in the frame however and ex-Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers is also being linked with the role, as well as David Moyes.

One chap munching on a bag of dry roasted peanuts in the Tavern thinks Garde would be a terrible appointment and think the club needs to appoint someone with more Premier League experience into the role.

Villa fans… Do you agree? Would Garde be a silly appointment? Who do you want to see take the role?
