It was reported during the start of this week that England manager, Roy Hodgson, had come out and made his stance known on the Jack Grealish situation, urging the young enigma to commit his international future with England, and England fans here in the Transfer Tavern aren’t sure on the whole issue!
After this public plea to the central midfielder, Hodgson put himself on the line to be left very red faced, but today it looks like this bold move may have paid off!
The Independent are reporting that the Aston Villa midfielder who has flourished under Tim Sherwood, is set to turn his back on the Republic of Ireland, and commit his future to the England National team.
This has come as welcome news to pundits and punters alike, as with persistent injuries to midfield dynamo Jack Wilshere, England could do with a young midfielder with some flair to fill the void in the centre of the park!
However, today’s developments will still surely come as surprise to many, as Grealish has previously represented the Republic of Ireland at U-21 level.
