Aston Villa want Ben Woodburn on loan

Aston Villa are looking to get their summer transfer business started now they have had their transfer embargo lifted and could be about to land a talented Premier League ace.

The Villans have been suffering from a financial mess following their defeat to Fulham in the Championship play-odd final and would have been concerned that they would have lost a number of their stars.

Steve Bruce’s side have already seen John Terry depart, whilst interest has intensified for the likes of Jack Grealish, Jonathan Kodjia and James Chester.

However, following the takeover by the club’s new majority owners, Nassef Sawiris and Wes Edens, the club are now in a position to strengthen their squad and reports are suggesting they are looking at a talented youngster.

According to a report in The Daily Telegraph, Liverpool’s Ben Woodburn is on Aston Villa’s radar and have launched a bid to sign him on a season-long loan.

The Verdict:

A deal looks to be on the cards for the Wales international as he is expected to be withdrawn from Jurgen Klopp’s training camp in France.

The 18-year-old is thought to have a bright future in the game and could be an instant hit at Villa Park.

Woodburn is a speedy midfielder who can offer plenty of creativity for the Villans and could potentially feel the void that Grealish’s impending departure to Tottenham Hotspur may have.
