The Aston Villa fans who are competing in a pool tournament in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing reports relating to their vacant manager’s position.
The Guardian is reporting that the Premier League side will not be rushed into making an appointment and are hopeful of recruiting a British manager.
Remi Garde was sacked on Tuesday following a reign that can only be described as sub standard, and leaves the club on the brink of relegation to the Championship.
Eric Black will be the man handed the reigns temporarily and he couldn’t have a tougher start to life as manager with Chelsea visiting Villa Park this weekend.
Numerous names are being linked with the vacant position the likes of David Moyes, Steve Bruce and Nigel Pearson being mentioned, but the Villa board know this will be an important appointment and are eager not to be rushed into a decision.
The Aston Villa fans in The Tavern are pleased that the club are taking the time to appoint a new man and that with their club all but relegated that it is important that a strong man takes control of the club for next season’s assault on the Championship.
