Andrea Stramaccioni still wants Aston Villa job

Steve Bruce’s job at Aston Villa appears to be under increasing pressure and one man has made it known that he would like the job, should it become available.

According to a report by Calciomercato, Andrea Stramaccioni is interested in the role at Villa Park.

Bruce’s side lost to Sheffield Wednesday in their last Championship outing, which has led to a number of the Villans faithful calling for him to be sacked from his position.

The manager knows that the pressure is on him to deliver, following last season’s close efforts, however, three wins from their first nine league matches is certainly not the way to do it.

Stramaccioni has made it clear that he would like to be at Aston Villa, as it is a team that has a great history and believes them to be an ambitious project.

The Italian is currently out of work after he was sacked by Sparta Prague in March and is believed to have been in contact with the Championship outfit in the summer, although Bruce kept his job on that occasion.

The Verdict:

The pressure is certainly mounting on Bruce at the moment and some will feel it is just a matter of time before he is given his marching orders.

Aston Villa have struggled to get going this season and someone of Stramaccioni’s ability could help to give the club a whole new lift and a fresh outlook on things.

However, it remains to be seen what the new Villa owners decide to do and if they do decide to replace Bruce, it’s unclear if the Italian remains an option for the Championship outfit.
