Aston Villa crashed out of the FA Cup at the hands of Swansea City with Tammy Abraham out of action against his former side.

The Villans were simply no match for the Welsh side who took the lead after just two minutes. Nathan Dyer doubled the advantage shortly after the break with Ryan Fulton’s late goal ensuring the Swans progressed to the next round at the expense of Dean Smith’s men.

Villa sorely lacked Abraham’s presence in the final third and Smith could be without their star forward for the foreseeable future. The Englishman has been linked with a loan move to Wolverhampton Wanderers – the chance to play in the Premier League could be too tempting for the youngster. Regardless of Abraham’s future, Villa need to strengthen their squad.

The ideal target could be Heerenveen forward – Arber Zeneli. Valued at £5.4m by Transfermarkt, the winger has been one of the division’s most consistent performers since joining his current employers back in 2016. Zeneli’s excellent showings have continued into the new campaign which should make the Aston Villa scouts sit up and take notice.

The 23-year-old has found the back of the net three times in the Eredivisie this season as well as registering ten assists for his team-mates. Zeneli is blessed with terrifying pace and excellent dribbling skills which makes him a nightmare for defenders to deal with.

Zeneli has less than one year remaining on his contract with the Dutch club meaning Smith could secure a bargain signing.
