Our Aston Villa fans here in the Transfer Tavern want to see new signings getting made but it looks as though, as per Sky Sports, it’s an outgoing that’s the latest deal to occur.
The Villans are hoping that their club can make a surge into the play-off places in the Championship this season but whilst in-comings will have to be decided over the coming weeks, Aly Cissokho looks to be going the other way.
The French defender has agreed to join Olympiacos on loan for the rest of the season with a view to making the deal permanent should things work out.
He’s struggled to hold down a spot in the Villa side this season and, despite having the likes of Liverpool and Lyon on his CV, too, he’s never really cut it in this country.
A move away, then, could be best for everyone according to our landlord and the defender has said that all that remains to be confirmed is his medical:
“I am very happy and proud to be here on behalf of Olympiacos. There are still some typical details to be completed, such as medical tests. Once they are completed, I can celebrate my transfer to Olympiacos”
Our Villa fans are hoping that this signals a move for another player in this window as Steve Bruce continues to build his squad.
