Aston Villa fans in the Transfer Tavern will be watching the final stretch of the Championship run-in with eagerness as their side battles for an automatic spot, although many believe a playoff spot is more of a realistic aim.
The locals will be delighted with how the Villans have played over the course of the season, despite a rough patch during the middle of the campaign and many will be interested with who the club bring in during the summer transfer window.
According to the Bristol Post, Steve Bruce is monitoring the progress of Yeovil Town’s Tom James as he looks to add to his experienced backline and mix it with a bit of youth. The 21-year-old has been performing well for the League Two outfit and can play anywhere across the back.
Villa are not the only club rumoured to be chasing the young defender, with the likes of Bristol City and Swansea City also keeping the former Wales Under-19 star on their radars.
Villa fans in the Tavern will be excited with the possibility of bringing in the highly-rated defender to the side and adding him to help build their defensive backline. The addition of James would be rather good for the Championship outfit as he would be able to feature anywhere across the back, should one of their more experienced heads become unavailable.
As you can imagine, the Villa fans here in the bar would love to see a talented youngster.
