Aston Villa fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are relieved to hear the news from their boss Roberto Di Matteo as there were question marks surrounding the club’s transfer policy.
According to the Birmingham Mail, Roberto Di Matteo has made it clear to Villa fans that he is fully in charge of signing players.
Last season part of their downfall was down to poor recruitment as it is believed that were disagreements between the previous manager Tim Sherwood and the head of recruitment Paddy Riley and sporting director Hendrik Almstadt.
This led to a range of transfers and plenty of punters in the Tavern don’t believe they were all brought in with the same mindset.
Now we know the buck stops at Di Matteo, putting himself under big pressure to do good business heading into the Championship season.
It is believed following last summer’s nightmare in the transfer window, the former Chelsea boss wants to set the tone and establish a consistent transfer policy.
