Aston Villa: Callum O’Hare heads out on loan

Aston Villa have confirmed on their official website that Callum O’Hare is joining Coventry City on a season-long loan spell.
This is a good opportunity for the 21-year-old old to show what he can do in the Football League, but perhaps amusingly, he will be doing so at St. Andrews’, home of Birmingham City, due to Coventry ground sharing with them.
O’Hare has played nine times for Villa, getting one assist which came during a 2-1 loss against Sheffield Wednesday, as per WhoScored.
His most recent minutes for the club came in January 2019, when he played 55 minutes of a 3-0 FA Cup loss against Swansea City.
What offers the best insight into how he could do in a Coventry shirt, is his time in League Two with Carlisle United for the second half of last season, where he played 16 games, scoring three goals and assisting another three.
Each of his goal contributions ended up earning Carlisle points, with the midfielder’s standout game seeing him score and assist in a 4-2 victory over Crawley Town.
This could be a good move for O’Hare, as it is very unlikely he would be able to get many minutes for Villa this season, especially so following promotion and the influx of players that inspired.
He now has a chance to go away, improve and show what he can do a step higher than he was last season.
