Aston Villa: Carles Gil comments prompt fan response

Plenty of Aston Villa fans have responded to recent comments made by Spanish winger Carles Gil, who now plays his football for New England Revolution.
After developing through Valencia’s various youth ranks, Gil became a first team player with the La Liga side in 2012, before being sent out on loan to Segunda side Elche to gain experience.
A two-year spell with Elche saw Gil gain the interest of Villa, who would eventually agree a £3.2m deal with Los Che for his services.
A bit part role at Villa Park saw Gil deemed surplus to requirements, and he would leave the Midlands for a two year loan spell with Deportivo before eventually being sold to New England Revolution last January.
Speaking on his move in a latest interview with SuperDeporte, Gil said that he had no regrets of his move to England.
Villa currently sit 19th in the Premier League, leaving fans to wait nervously in anticipation for football to return after the recent pandemic postponed fixtures.
Reacting to Gil’s comments via @astonforza, fans responded:
Gil: “I’ve played in the PL, at a big club like Villa which in the long run didn’t go well but I was very comfortable there. I don’t regret the move.” #avfc pic.twitter.com/kupXdgcYcW

I’d have him and Veretout back under better management. We were rudderless when they came.
