Premier League new boys Aston Villa could make a move to sign former Liverpool and Sunderland striker Fabio Borini.
The Italian forward is currently plying his trade over in Italy with AC Milan, but according to Italian publication Calciomercato, there is Premier League interest in the striker.
The 28-year-old is thought to interest both Crystal Palace and Villa, who could both be willing to pay the €15m (roughly £13.4m) fee it could cost to lure him away from Milan.
Borini was an £11m signing for Liverpool but flopped as he struggled to adapt to life in the Premier League, scoring just three goals during his stint on Merseyside. A move to Sunderland did yield slightly more success, however, with the former Chelsea youngster bagging 17 goals in 93 games as the Black Cats avoided relegation in the 2015/16 season.
So, a player with Premier League experience and someone who can operate in a variety of roles (his ability to play across the frontline is detailed by Transfermarkt, as well as this graphic on Goal highlighting his versatility at the San Siro), Borini does look to be a fairly attractive option, despite never proving overly prolific.
Dean Smith has already added the likes of Jota and Wesley Moraes to his squad, as well as the permanent additions of loan stars Anwar El-Ghazi and Kortney Hause, and perhaps Borini could follow for another stint in England, bolstering a squad across many different positions.
