Aston Villa could lose Birkir Bjarnason

Aston Villa have had a difficult summer so far and things may only get worse for Steve Bruce’s side as the crisis continues.
The Villans are continuing to suffer with their financial position following their Play-Off defeat to Fulham at the end of last season and are now needing to sell their stars in order to save costs so they do not fall foul of Financial Fair Play regulations.
Bruce has already come to terms with the idea that the likes of Jack Grealish, Mile Jedinak, James Chester and Jonathan Kodjia could following John Terry out of the door, however, reports are suggesting that he could also lose another man.
The Verdict:
Losing Bjarnason would be a serious blow for Aston Villa this summer as the player has proven to be influential when it has mattered. The Iceland international had a difficult start to life following his switch from Basel in 2017, however, he has since proven his worth to the side after looking as though he would go down as a flop.
Villa know that they can not stand in the way of reasonable offers for their players, however, they will not want to lose a player to another Championship rival. The club would have been hoping to be in a position to challenge for promotion once again, however, Villa may need to focus their concerns of not being relegated instead.
