Aston Villa: Fans appreciate Anwar El Ghazi’s effort in Tottenham defeat

Several Aston Villa fans have used Twitter to show their appreciation for Anwar El Ghazi and the effort he put in during the 3-2 loss to Tottenham.
El Ghazi was involved in the game’s opening goal as his cross was turned in by Toby Alderweireld — a moment to forget for the Belgian. Indeed, it was just one positive contribution from the 24-year-old in an attacking display he can be pleased with.
During the encounter at Villa Park, he managed to complete two dribbles — the same amount as Jack Grealish — and register three shots on target (via WhoScored). Only Son Heung-min (six) took more out of the players on the pitch.
Considering all of that, you can see why loads of Villa supporters were left feeling impressed, with one fan claiming it was the Dutchman’s best performance in the club’s colours.

Don’t often criticise smith but the subs of el Ghazi and Samatta were odd. Both were still playing well and very active.

Loss is gonna sting but wow we played some good football and deserved at least a point, Samatta looks unreal and has good chemistry, Reina with a great performance, El Ghazi looked threatening, everyone looked sharp, super promising times ahead IMO #avfc #UTV
