Aston Villa said their goodbyes to Jonathan Kodjia as he departed the club to join the Qatar-based side Al-Gharafa SC.
The Ivorian had found himself out of favour for the Villans since their promotion to the Premier League from the Championship. Kodjia missed his former side’s two games against Leicester City and Manchester City due to injury and was absent from Saturday’s draw to Brighton as he was pictured in Qatar on Friday, as per Express and Star.

Al-Gharafa’s official Twitter page (via @ALGHARAFACLUB) confirmed that the 30-year-old had officially joined the club as a new signing, meaning that Kodjia has brought his three-and-a-half-year spell at Villa Park to an end. He scored 31 goals and provided nine assists in 106 appearances for the Claret and Blues. Supporters bid the Ivory Coast international farewell and sent their best wishes on social media.
