Aston Villa: Fans compare John McGinn to James Milner

Many Aston Villa fans have compared John McGinn to their former midfielder and current Liverpool man James Milner, amongst others.
Dean Smith’s side sit 19th in the Premier League with relegation very much a threat, just one year after gaining promotion from the Championship via the play-off final.
Much of Villa’s success last term and during certain results this term, have come from the ability and quality from a number of players, including Scottish international McGinn.

The midfielder, who is currently injured, joined Villa in the summer of 2018 from Scottish Premier League side Hibernian, signing a four-year contract in the process.
Six goals and 10 assists in 40 appearances in the Championship last season saw 25-year-old gain a reputation in English football, and that was further enhanced during the first half of the current campaign as the midfielder netted three goals and provided two assists in 18 games.
McGinn, who is recovering from an ankle injury suffered over the winter period, could yet feature again for Villa this season, depending on the return of the Premier League.
