Aston Villa: Fans credit Mbwana Samatta following Bournemouth defeat

Loads of Aston Villa credited the attitude of striker Mbwana Samatta following his side’s 2-1 defeat to Bournemouth on Saturday.
The 27-year-old could not hide his disappointment after his team could not topple the 10-man Cherries at the Vitality Stadium. Philip Billing and Nathan Ake gave the hosts the lead before the break and the Tanzanian forward got the visitors an eventual consolation goal. Here is what Samatta said after the final whistle.
Mbwana Samatta: “It’s okay when you score goals as a striker. I came here two weeks ago and everybody is looking forward to seeing me score goals. But when you lose a game you cannot be happy because, as a group, we have to win together and lose together.” [avfc] #avfc pic.twitter.com/KW4lPf6kAC

Samatta moved to Villa Park from Belgian side Genk for £8.5m during the January transfer window and played 90 minutes in what was his Premier League debut for the club. After getting three shots on goal and completing two key passes (according to SofaScore), there is surely plenty more to come. Supporters were delighted for him and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan described him as a “true leader”, while another fan felt for him despite getting a goal that should boost his confidence.

Glad he got off the mark early! Seems like a humble person. Can’t wait to see him score at the Holte end.
