Aston Villa: Fans discuss Scott Sinclair’s time at the club - Aston Villa

Many Aston Villa fans have looked back on Scott Sinclair’s time at the club, after a Twitter account suggested the club should never have sold him.

Signing for the Claret and Blue on an initial loan deal in 2015, winger Sinclair made an immediate impression at Villa Park. His efforts saw him gain a permanent move to the club, and he would make further appearances in the 2015/2016 season, netting two goals in 27 league outings.

Revealing during his time at the club: ‘This is the happiest I have been in a long time,’ fans were shocked when the former England U21 international departed just a year into his full-time Villa career, having racked up a total of 45 appearances, netting nine times.

Moving to Scottish Premier League side Celtic, the Bath-born forward would go on to have success during his time at the club. Winning the SPL title three times, plus three Scottish Cup’s and three Scottish League Cup’s, Sinclair further enhanced his reputation.

Now playing football for Championship side Preston North End, the 31-year-old will be expected to make an impact at Deepdale.
