Aston Villa: Fans do not want Sam Allardyce to replace Dean Smith

A lot of Aston Villa fans have said that they would not want Sam Allardyce to manage the club if Dean Smith was to leave during this Premier League season.
Current Villa manager Smith is under a lot of pressure at the moment as the club battle for Premier League safety, with John Percy reporting that he is fighting for his future. This has left fans to discuss who could replace him should the ex-Brentford boss resign or be sacked.
Along with their fight to stay in the Premier League, the club also suffered heartbreak as they lost 2-1 to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final earlier this month, but to get there in the first place was a great achievement for the recently promoted side (Sky Sports).
Allardyce has a great reputation when it comes to keeping teams in England’s top division. Indeed, Crystal Palace in the 16/17 season looked destined to be relegated as they were 17th when he arrived, but they flourished under ‘Big Sam’ and managed to finish 14th in the league (BBC Sport).
However he most recently took over Everton, and his style of football did not meet the fans’ ambitions and he eventually was sacked in 2019 by the club after only six months in charge (BBC Sport).
Here are what fans have said about potentially appointing Allardyce after the question was asked by one Twitter user:
Serious question: Would you take Big Sam until the end of the season? #AVFC pic.twitter.com/6rQVNYgp7X

Never.

The same people that want Big Sam are the same who will be moaning about him and his tacitcs next season. Smith has made many mistakes, but he is a victim of his own success.

No thanks. As bad as we appear to be, repeating mistakes of the past 10 years is a big fat NO

Why? If we go down we go down. Smith has shown he can get us out the championship. No good sacking him this close to the end of the season.

No we dont have the players to play his style of play. He would organise us better and make us less of a soft touch but it wouldnt be enough.

Rather go down
