Aston Villa: Fans fume as transfer report claims January business is finished - Aston Villa

Plenty of Aston Villa fans are unhappy with the latest transfer report, as they are not expected to complete any more business on deadline day.

According to Telegraph journalist John Percy, via @villareport, the Villans do not expect any more signings in the January window. The claim states that the club are satisfied with their January business, which includes the £10m signing of Mbwana Samatta, per BBC.

Unsurprisingly, this has left most fans very upset, as they feel their squad is still just as thin in the forward department as it was at the start of the month. Samatta is of course an upgrade on a player who was barely making an impact in Jonathan Kodjia (just 111 Premier League minutes), but the one out one in strategy certainly doesn’t improve squad depth.

The other signings have come in midfield in the shape of Danny Drinkwater and of course in goal with Pepe Reina, but even he was brought in to replace an injured player in Tom Heaton, so the club really haven’t improved the lack of numbers in key positions. Check out some of the best Twitter reactions down below, where some called for Jesus Garcia Pitarch to be sacked while another simply labelled the news ‘shocking’…
