Aston Villa: Fans react to Mbwana Samatta’s message to Danny Drinkwater on Instagram
Replying to an Instagram post from Aston Villa’s official account, striker Mbwana Samatta posted a hilarious message to Danny Drinkwater which resulted in many Villa fans praising the striker.
Samatta, who signed for the club in January for a deal worth £8.5 million, has gone on to notch a Premier League goal whilst also scoring against Manchester City during Villa’s 2-1 Carabao Cup final loss. The Tanzanian, who is slowly becoming a fan favourite if the reactions to his post are anything to go by, could be a key figurehead in the Villans’ bid to avoid relegation – with Dean Smith’s side currently sitting 19th in the table.
Midfielder Drinkwater, who celebrated his 30th birthday on Thursday, has only featured five times for the club since signing on loan from Chelsea in the January window. However, the Englishman’s birthday celebrations were at least a cause for hilarity when Samatta replied on Instagram, stating: “Happy birthday Danny I’m going to Drinkwater for you.”
