Aston Villa: Fans happy for Orjan Nyland to play cup matches following Jed Steer injury

Several Aston Villa fans have declared that they are happy to see Orjan Nyland feature in the League Cup following an injury to Jed Steer.
Steer was substituted after just seven minutes of their 2-1 defeat against Wolves with a calf injury and, according to Sky Sports, he will now be out of action for two months.
Is Wesley an upgrade on Tammy Abraham?
Yes

No

Tom Heaton is Villa’s regular first-choice goalkeeper and has featured in 11 of their 12 Premier League matches so far (via Transfermarkt).
However, Dean Smith has opted to play second choice Steer in their Carabao Cup campaign so far, with the 27-year-old starting in all three of their matches in the competition to date (Transfermarkt).
They remain in the League Cup and are set to face Liverpool in the quarter-final next month. So Smith will have to decide whether to continue with the theme and play reserve stopper Nyland against the Reds, or to throw in the experienced Heaton now that it is getting to the business end of the tournament.
Despite being third choice, many Villa fans have said on Twitter that they would be happy to see Nyland be given an opportunity in the quarter-final.
Many of them insisted that he performed well enough against Wolves to warrant another chance to play, whilst some said that they didn’t want Heaton to play as the league is more important and they don’t want him to pick up an injury.
Here is what some said…
100% Nyland. Wouldnt even have Heaton on the bench. Keep him for the league.

for me i would give Nyland a chance. Not the best in the world, but would give him some confidence and could make a good No2

Nyland. Keep him playing in case Heaton gets injured again so he can step up without not having played.

Nyland deserves a chance. He ain’t gonna get many opportunities even if it’s only putting him in the shop window

Nyland did well enough yesterday. Kept is simple, couple of decent stops and was not at fault for either goal.

Nyland for the cup games, the league has to be priority for Heaton. It would be a Jed-like turnaround if we end the season with Nyland as #1 !!
