Many Aston Villa fans have had their say on Twitter after Steve Bruce spoke about his tenure at the club.
Speaking to the Telegraph, the current Newcastle coach described the job as “arguably my most difficult” and also called the fans a “difficult” lot, as he failed to get the club back into the big time.
Bruce, who took over Sheffield Wednesday halfway through last season and instigated a sharp rise in form, has been at Newcastle since the summer after Rafa Benitez left the club.
Since leaving Villa Park, you could argue the current Newcastle boss and Aston Villa are both in better positions.
Of course, the Villans are back in the Premier League and so is Bruce. However, both parties know they have a relegation dogfight on their hands, which makes this game all the juicier.
The Magpies are currently two points ahead of the claret and blue, meaning victory would help Villa leapfrog their former boss.
Lots of fans have slated their former manager after his comments to the press, as you can see below…
Funnily enough, Bruce’s 18 months spent at Villa was one of the most difficult times I’ve had too
