Aston Villa: Fans look back on Championship form which saw them promoted
Many Aston Villa fans have looked back on the club’s impressive end to last season which saw them seal promotion to the Premier League.
Dean Smith’s side have been struggling to gain consistent form this season and they currently sit 19th in the Premier League standings (BBC Sport).
With football halted due to the recent pandemic, fans have a break from the dramatic relegation battle that they see their site involved in at present.
Villa, who gained promotion via the play-off final last term, beating Derby County to return to England’s top flight – were in superb form towards the end of the Championship campaign.
Indeed they managed to win 10 games in a row which saw the Claret and Blue move into the play-offs before ultimately joining Norwich City and Sheffield United in gaining promotion to the Premier League.
The run included wins over Birmingham City, Derby, Middlesbrough, Nottingham Forest, Millwall, Blackburn Rovers, Sheffield Wednesday, Rotherham, Bolton Wanderers and Bristol City.
