Aston Villa fans have been desperate for a striker since they found out Wesley was out for the season, and they’ve finally got one in Mbwana Samatta. The ex-Genk centre-forward is getting supporters excited, and who could blame them considering his form could be the difference between remaining in the Premier League or relegation.
He’d scored seven in 17 for his old side this season before making the switch. What’s even more impressive is he’s managed to bag three goals in six Champions League games this term too, but the 27-year-old will be under a different level of pressure at Villa Park. Fans are clearly expectant, and the Tanzanian forward must deliver.
Villa news aggregator Villa Report posted a video of Samatta on the training pitch where he’s smiling at the camera and looking pleased to be at the club. Many fans replied drooling over him, showing just how pleased they are that the club bought a striker just as they wanted.

This lad I have total faith in and I haven’t a clue about him!
You can just tell he’s not going to stop until he proves to his homeland that he’s a success in the biggest league in world football. A man with a plan! Total energy!! UTV
