Aston Villa: Fans loved seeing James Chester in action against Liverpool

James Chester managed to help Aston Villa keep a clean sheet in their 5-0 thrashing of Liverpool in the Carabao Cup last night, although fans were just happy to see him play.
The 30-year-old has had his injury problems since joining the Midlands club, while strong competition at the back has not made life any easier.
Is James Chester Aston Villa's best centre-half?
Yes

No

Dean Smith currently has England international Tyrone Mings to call upon and also added Ezri Konsa to his ranks in the summer for £12m, showing what a fit Chester is up against.
Nevertheless, he was given the nod for the quarter-final encounter against Liverpool and did his part as Villa kept out the young Reds side and progressed to the semi-finals of the competition.
Next up for the Villans is a home tie against Southampton as they return to Premier League action on Saturday.

Best part of the night for me was seeing Chezzy back. He is absolutely one of the reasons we’re in the Premiership and it’s just fantastic to see him in the claret and blue
