Aston Villa: Fans not happy after hearing the club may be quiet in January transfer window

Aston Villa are unlikely to spend big in the January transfer window, that is according to The Athletic reporter Gregg Evans.
Dean Smith’s side spent over £100m in the summer window, bringing in the likes of Wesley, Tom Heaton and Tyrone Mings amongst others (Transfermarkt).
However, it seems like big-money deals are off the table this time around and it will be a much quieter window for the West Midlands outfit.
In a post on Twitter, journalist Evans said: “Early indications are that #avfc won’t be spending heavily in January. A striker/winger would certainly help but forget the thought of record-breaking deals. Very unlikely. A quiet transfer window expected,” (@greggevans40).
Many supporters have been left unhappy by this news, insisting that the club must press ahead with more signings in two months’ time in order to help them retain their Premier League status.
Quite a few are particularly keen for the Villans to at least bring in a striker to compete with Wesley, as they are worried that they are a little thin on the ground up front.
Here is what some Aston Villa fans have said about a potentially quiet January on Twitter…
We don’t get a decent striker its back to the Championship.

Insanity not to at least add to the forward options. Doesn’t need to break transfer records, just needs to take the pressure off a goal-shy attack.

Seeing people say it’s sensible then in the same breath say we need a striker. Goal scorers don’t come cheap and we need 1 desperately. I hope this is smoke a mirrors from us because of other clubs hiking up prices because they think we are desperate.

We need a proven goal scorer and someone that can hold the ball up on a consistent basis. That will cost money, naive to stand still judging by the up and down nature of the front 3 so far this season.

We’ll be relegated if we don’t spend end of.

????????????? Ok then. That is just stupid. We need new winger and a new striker?

We have to spend. That statement is simply arrogant and foolish if true. We need to stay up. How about investing in that? Rich owners last time I checked!
