Whilst we may be going in the middle of the January transfer window, not all of the business conducted has to involve bringing in new faces. For the Villa Park faithful, the news that Dean Smith has recalled Andre Green from Portsmouth is brilliant, and they’re desperate to see the youngster thrown into the senior side as soon as possible.
We can confirm that @AndreGreen_ has today returned to the club following his loan spell at Portsmouth.

The versatile 20-year-old winger has the ability to play on both wings and he could be very useful for Smith now he’s back in Birmingham and available for selection again. The chances of the youngster being thrown straight in for their clash with Hull City on Saturday at Villa Park is slim. but he could well feature from the bench as he aims to put a disappointing spell at Portman Road behind him.
In Green’s time with the League One club, the 20-year-old spent a lot of his spell injured. However, he was able to give the Pompey fans one memorable moment when he scored their last-gasp winner in the 3rd round of the FA Cup away at Carrow Road, dumping on Championship side Norwich. Now, though he’ll be desperate to create some memorable moments for Villa and if he can help them to a playoff place this season then credit will have to go to Dean Smith for recalling him.

Good! Get the kid playing. Has bags of talent like most of our youth and they get passed over every time. Do us proud andre. The villa faithful know your potential, it’s time to smash it!
