Aston Villa fans on Twitter desperate for Lansbury to earn his keep

Aston Villa fans have been given an update ahead of their clash tonight against Nottingham Forest, and it’s one that will come as a nice surprise. Their ever-injured midfielder Henri Lansbury is back in training and now they’re desperate for the 28-year-old to prove his worth and put together a string of games.

With Lansbury only just returning to training, the chances are that the Villains’ trip to The City Ground will come too early for the midfielder. However, if he can take up a place on the bench and be given a few minutes towards the end of the game by Dean Smith then the travelling fans will be delighted. In the season so far, the ex-Forest man has made just three senior appearances, and that’s something the fans want to change.
If Lansbury can put together a run of games and start to show his worth then there really is no reason why he can’t star in the club’s midfield alongside the likes of John McGinn and Jack Grealish. However, putting his injury woes to bed will certainly be hard, especially seeing as how long Lansbury has spent on the sidelines. Having signed for Villa in January 2017, his return of only 33 appearances is something that the midfielder will be desperate to rectify, and the fans simply cannot wait for him to do just that.

The Villains are all blindly hoping that Lansbury can get back to his best between now and the end of the season and they probably can’t take any more setbacks without giving up on the midfielder.
