Aston Villa fans on Twitter shocked to hear Nyland’s injury woes

At times this season, the Villains haven’t always been the most complimentary about their Norwegian goalkeeper, Orjan Nyland. However, yesterday the news broke that the 28-year-old had done his achilles tendon and now faces a long time on the sidelines, something that nobody would have wished upon on him no matter how he’s playing.
Ørjan Nyland has done his Achilles Tendon in training today, and will be out long term. #avfc

Over the last few weeks, Nyland has been in much better form, and it’s so clear to see that he’s desperate to succeed at the club. Steve Bruce brought the shot-stopper in over the summer and considering that it was Bruce who made the purchase, the Norwegian was always going to be up against it at Villa Park. However, he’s done his best to win the fans over, and they all seem devastated at this news.
In just a couple of days, Lovre Kalinic will be joining the club after the news broke last week that the Croatian had been signed by Dean Smith but the Villains still need to get through their clash against QPR tomorrow without the Croatian, meaning that losing Nyland will be a huge blow. However, the fans still see a future for the Norwegian at the club, and will be wishing him a speedy recovery.

Just our luck, as soon as any player gains a bit of form then go and get injured. Wish him a speedy recovery

Jeez just as well we got another one in

If this is the case, I am genuinely gutted for the guy. He’s taken the news of the new keeper seriously and played for the jersey in the last few games, topped off by the penalty save.
God help us if we have any more injuries (in any department!) #avfc

That’s the end of him then!!

The Villains all seem gutted that Nyland has suffered this blow and they’ll be keen for the 28-year-old to make a swift recovery and challenge Kalionic for the #1 jersey.
