Plenty of Aston Villa fans have shared their delight at a report outlining the Premier League’s decision to allow Tom Heaton and Wesley to be re-registered.
Sitting 19th in the Premier League table, Villa will be hoping to beat off the threat of relegation if the current season returns. Having struggled since the start of 2020 with various injuries, manager Dean Smith has rarely been able to call on his full squad throughout the campaign.
Brazilian striker Wesley, who was gradually adapting to English football since his move last summer from Club Brugge, is still nursing a problem, whilst Heaton was expected to miss the entire season had it not been postponed.
Both players suffered their respective injuries in the Premier League fixture against Burnley four months ago and it would provide Smith and Villa with a huge boost if they return before the season’s finish. With both players now edging closer to full fitness, the Midlands club are expected to be told they can re-register them for Premier League football, according to Birmingham Live.
Reacting to the news via Birmingham Live writer Ashley Preece’s Twitter account, these Villa fans gave their take on the news:

Far rather Samatta than Wesley in the team

Samatta looked similar to Wesley in the last few games. Strikers need decent service not balls hoofed up to the half way line without any support coming in a hurry.

And a fit again John McGinn! Very positive news!
