John McGinn has been outstanding in the heart of their midfield so far this term and has already scored three goals and created one assist (via TransferMarkt).

While much of the focus heading into the season will have been centred around Jack Grealish given his talent, McGinn has so far outshone his teammate and has looked extremely comfortable in the top flight of English football.

There is no doubt that the Scotland international has been the best and most influential player so far this term for his club as highlighted by the fact he has been directly involved in 50% of Villa’s goals in the league.

Having only joined the club from Hibernian last summer, it has been quite a rise for the 24-year-old who is now reportedly attracting the interest of Manchester United.

His latest impressive performance was in Villa’s 2-2 draw with Burnley at the weekend, where he scored once and also had a goal ruled out by VAR.

As well as his goal, McGinn also played two key passes and three accurate long balls, completed four dribbles and made two tackles in a busy 90 minutes (via WhoScored).

Villa posted a highlights reel of his performance on Twitter on Wednesday and many fans have been giving him rave reviews in response. Here is what some of them have been saying…
