Championship outfit Aston Villa announced on Friday afternoon that Neil Cutler is their new goalkeeping coach.

New Villans chief Dean Smith brings in Cutler as part of his newly-assembled backroom staff in which the new coach joins from West Brom, where he had been doing a similar role.

Cutler will be working with Mark Bunn, Andre Moreira and Orjan Nyland, the latter of which Smith seems to have decided will be his number one. Nyland never really fully gained the trust of ex-boss Steve Bruce during his tenure as his costly errors provided decisive in the scorelines.

However, Nyland will be hoping that, with the help of Cutler, the 28-year-old can put his mistakes behind him and firmly gain the trust of the fans in the number one shirt under Smith.

Unsurprisingly, this recent announcement prompted quite the reaction from several Villa fans on Twitter, with some wishing the former goalkeeper well in his new adventure at Villa Park...

Yet plenty of others were saying the same thing following the announcement, namely the big job he has on his hands in improving the Villa goalkeeping department...
