Aston Villa: Fans react to journalist’s Axel Tuanzebe transfer suggestion - Aston Villa

Loads of Aston Villa supporters have agreed with Birmingham Mail journalist Ashley Preece’s view that the club should try and re-sign Axel Tuanzebe in the upcoming transfer window.

The £9 million valued centre-back spent the 2019/20 season on loan at Villa Park and was a regular in the team, featuring in 31 matches in all competitions including 29 starts (Transfermarkt). He was a key figure in their surge up the league and played every single minute of their play-off campaign as they beat West Brom and Derby County to secure promotion to the Premier League.

He returned to parent club Manchester United in the summer and they opted to retain his services rather than loaning him out again, even rewarding him with a new three-year-contract (Manchester Evening News).

However he has managed to make just 10 appearances across all competitions for the Red Devils, five of which have been in the Premier League as he has struggled to force his way into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s starting 11 (Transfermarkt).

In his recent column, Preece suggested that Tuanzebe is ‘wasting away‘ at Old Trafford and insisted that the Villans should try and sign him as soon as the next transfer window opens.

It seems that plenty of Villa fans are in agreement with this and would love the defender back at the club. Some even suggested that he should be included in any potential deal involving Jack Grealish moving in the opposite direction, with the club captain having been heavily linked with a move to United (Metro).
