Aston Villa are hopeful that both Matt Targett and Jonathan Kodjia will be available for their Premier League fixture against Norwich City on Saturday.
Who should start at left-back for Aston Villa, Neil Taylor or Matt Targett?
However, manager Dean Smith hopes to have both players in his squad for the game at Carrow Road as the Villans, who currently sit in the relegation zone, look for only their second Premier League win of the campaign.
Speaking to the official Aston Villa website about the duo, Smith said: “Matt Targett hasn’t trained yet since the weekend. But nothing showed up on the scan in terms of a hamstring issue, which is really pleasing. However, he certainly felt something so we’ve got be very cautious with him.
“But he will start training on Wednesday ready for the Norwich game.
“Jonathan Kodjia is training fully now with the mask on so we have people coming back from injury, which is good to see.”
The news has been met by a positive response by most Villa fans, many of whom want to see one if not both players start against Norwich City at the weekend. Here is what some of them have been saying…
