Aston Villa: Fans react to Marvelous Nakamba’s tackle on Sergio Aguero

Aston Villa fans were not happy with Lee Mason’s decision to book Marvelous Nakamba for a crunching ball-winning tackle in yesterday’s 2-1 defeat to Manchester City in the Carabao Cup Final.
Indeed, the Zimbabwean midfielder, who added plenty of bite in the middle of the park, is getting plenty of praise for his tackling from Villa fans too. Nakamba actually put in the thumping challenge on Wembley goalscorer Sergio Aguero and appeared to win the ball, but referee Lee Mason awarded Man City a foul and give the Villa man a yellow card on what turned out to be a disappointing day for the Midlands giants.
Despite the caution handed to him, one football fan account described the video of the tackle from the former Brugge ace as ‘beautiful’ – and plenty of Villa fans entered the comments to agree, slamming the original decision and saying referee Mason was ‘just awful’.
With that in mind, here’s what some of the Aston Villa fans had to say…
Its a great tackle, how that a foul and even a yellow is beyond me, poor from the ref
