Aston Villa: Fans respond to footage of Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz

Many Aston Villa fans have responded to a tweet from midfielder Douglas Luiz, who shared footage of his highlights at the club.
The 21-year-old arrived at Villa Park last summer in a permanent move from Premier League rivals Manchester City, and he has gradually been making himself a permanent fixture in Dean Smith’s starting eleven.
Making 26 league appearances for Villa, Luiz has contributed to the cause with three goals and two assists, whilst also playing an important role for the club in their League Cup run which saw them lose to the Citizens in the final at Wembley earlier this year.
Having began his career in his homeland with Vasco da Gama, Luiz moved to Man City in 2017 but he failed to appear for them, being loaned out for two seasons to La Liga side Girona.
Suffering relegation with the Catalan side, the Brazil international will be hoping to help Villa escape a similar fate when the football season resumes after the recent pandemic caused a postponement in fixtures.
Reacting to Luiz’s tweet, fans shared their opinion on the former City man’s season so far:

Class player when he keeps it simple. Sometimes gets caught taking a few too many touches but still young and a great player imo

If you improve your passing and keeping possession, you could easily become electric in the midfield
