Many Aston Villa fans have responded on Twitter to claims from Harry Redknapp that Jack Grealish is being harshly overlooked by Gareth Southgate.
The former Birmingham City manager said that if the Villa captain played for anyone but England he’d be a regular starter for his country. He also went on to say that if he was Italian or Spanish, they would almost build the team around the 24-year-old.
From Grealish’s first 11 games of the season, he has already contributed to six goals for his side – as much as anyone else in the side. Furthermore, in addition to his two goals and four assists, he has had the second-highest average rating in the whole Villa squad, with a 7.43/10 from WhoScored, which is only bettered by John McGinn.
Unsurprisingly, lots of the supporters of the claret and blue were delighted to hear Redknapp say such positive words about their star player, as you can tell from the responses below.
