Aston Villa: Fans sum up Wesley’s first 12 games for the club

Several Aston Villa fans have been giving their thoughts on Wesley’s first few games for the club on social media recently.
The Brazilian signed for the West Midlands outfit from Club Brugge in the summer transfer window for what was at the time a record fee (BBC Sport).
So far he has managed to score four goals in his 12 Premier League appearances for the Villans, including a brace against Norwich City (Transfermarkt).
Since those goals at Carrow Road he has struggled and has failed to find the net in any of his last four appearances (Transfermarkt).
Twitter account @AVFC_News asked Villa fans to sum up Wesley’s performances for the club so far, with quite a few responses suggesting that he has been too inconsistent.
However, many also accepted that it is still very early in his Aston Villa career and admitted that with him only being 22-years-old there is still scope for him to improve.
Here is what some Villa supporters think about Wesley’s first few appearances…
Inconsistent. He’ll develop, but had ups and downs for sure

4 in 12 isnt a bad return for a young player in the hardest league in the world. But he needs to improve his movement, i’ve only seen him have one clear cut chance (Wolves away) Needs to get back to the battering ram that bullied Everton.

Stuttered start, glimpses of his capabilities but very stop start. Convinced he will be a menace but has joined a new club, in a new league in a new country, and the club are new to the Premier League also.
Learning curve but his quality will eventually shine through. #UTV #AVFC

Not spectacular but decent for a kid who’s never played in England before

Up and down. Bullied Everton and Norwich, scored against arsenal but was poor against Wolves. Good performances even when he hasn’t scored, but may be better playing with another striker

Middle of the road really but he’s still young and learning all the time and I believe he will become a top player. Unfortunately we need a striker who can hit 15-20 goals a season to get us to where we want to be in the league.
So we need to buy a striker with this ability. UTV!— dAVid..AVFC (@jeananddavid4) November 21, 2019
He’s done ok. Room for improvement obviously, needs to keep working hard. Has all the tools to succeed
