Aston Villa fans are all well aware of their situation at the moment and know that whilst this season is a complete write-off, they have a chance to rebuild in the summer and go again next season. The transfer rumours will start coming thick and fast nearer to the summer, but Alan Nixon has claimed they’re keen on Barnsley’s Liam Lindsay.

The defensive issues at Villa Park are serious. The Villains have shipped the joint 3rd most amount of goals in the Championship this season, letting in 53 in their 34 games. The only sides who can match that or claim to be worse at the back are currently occupying the relegation zone in the form of Ipswich, Bolton and Rotherham, so to say that Villa Park could do with some defensive reinforcements is an understatement.
In the January window Dean Smith looked to the market and brought in a few loan deals to get him through to the end of the season, but it will be in the summer window where the real work will need to be done. The Villains are getting sick and tired of loans, though, and will hope they can part with some cash in the summer months to bring in some real talent, and they’re not sure that Liam Lindsay is the talent they need, despite his strong form in League One with Barnsley this season.

Decent young centre back but rather sign Mings permanently

We’re not gonna sign premier league players anymore, stop spamming who

Never heard of him, position?

Aston Villa are very keen on buying other Championship clubs ‘best’ players, having our pants pulled down on the players price and then finding out buying all the ‘best’ players and throwing them in a team doesn’t win you anything except huge wages bills

Between not knowing who Lindsay is and not wanting to sign players for inflated prices from League One, the Villains are keen to give this move a miss.Like what the TT have on offer? Sign up for more notifications!
