Many Aston Villa fans looked back on Tammy Abraham’s penalty which secured the club’s passage to the Championship play-off final last season.
The Premier League future of Villa continues to hang in the balance, sitting 19th in the table and very much in desperate need to gain some points if the season returns.
Despite reaching the Carabao Cup final, which they lost to Manchester City, Villa have struggled to find consistent form in England’s top flight. Having gained promotion via the play-off final last term, Dean Smith’s side will very much be helping to remain in the top flight.
Looking back at footage of the play-off semi-final against West Bromwich Albion, which was exactly a year ago today, many Villa fans enjoyed watching back Abraham’s winning penalty. Abraham, who now plays for Chelsea, had a successful loan spell at Villa Park, scoring 26 goals in 41 games.
Reacting to the footage of Abraham’s penalty via the club’s official Twitter account, these fans reacted…
