Plenty of Aston Villa fans were frustrated with the latest update on their summer transfer plans.
The Villans have had a tough time with injuries this season, with striker Wesley and goalkeeper Tom Heaton suffered season-ending blows, both having cruciate ligament damage in their knees. As a result, they have been excluded from Dean Smith’s Premier League squad list for the second half of the season. However, there was a report which suggested some of the other player’s futures may have already been decided.
Birmingham Mail revealed that the likes of Jota, Ahmed Elmohamady and Matija Sarkic will be kept for next season, while the likes of Henri Lansbury, Neil Taylor, Lovre Kalinic and James Chester will be allowed to leave. Indeed, supporters were not particularly surprised with the update and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan described it as “a roll call of mediocrity”.

Quantity over quality never works. Built another bomb squad with some of these signings.
