Aston Villa: Fans wanted Trezeguet on much earlier in defeat to Sheffield United

A lot of Aston Villa fans were calling for Trezeguet to be introduced long before his eventual 80th-minute introduction on a day to forget for Dean Smith’s team.
The Villans fell to a 0-2 defeat away to Sheffield United this afternoon, their third consecutive loss in the Premier League, and now have just one win in their last eight matches in the division.
Egyptian winger Trezeguet again had to be content with a place among the substitutes, having also been named on the bench against Leicester last week before he was brought on, as Smith went with an attacking three of Anwar El Ghazi, Wesley and Jack Grealish.
The 25-year-old eventually came on for El Ghazi with only 10 minutes to go, the lateness of the substitution perhaps a surprise given that the visitors failed to record a single shot on target at Bramall Lane.
These Aston Villa fans on Twitter wanted to see Trezeguet being introduced well before Smith finally gave him the call:
yep, been shocking lads.
get trez on and lets start creating pic.twitter.com/Ot2wfzv8N0

drop jack into midfield and bring on trez we can’t persist with the same tactics every game when it’s clearly not working

Bring Wesley off, put El Ghazi up front and Trez on the other wing. #avfc
