Several Aston Villa supporters have admitted that they would like to see the club re-sign Christian Benteke in the January transfer window.
Would you take Christian Benteke back?
The Belgian spent three years at Villa Park between 2012-2015 and was prolific during his time there, scoring 49 goals in 101 appearances (Transfermarkt).
His excellent goalscoring record ultimately led to a £32.5 million move to Liverpool (BBC Sport) but it didn’t really work out for him at Anfield and he left after just one season to join Crystal Palace (BBC Sport).
He remains at Selhurst Park to this day but he has been a shadow of his former self recently. Indeed, he has scored just four goals in his last 57 Premier League appearances for the south London club (Transfermarkt).
According to the Evening Standard, Benteke could look to leave Palace in January in order to boost his chances of making Belgium’s Euro 2020 squad.
When asked whether they would take him back in the upcoming transfer window by fan account @astonforza, plenty of Aston Villa admitted that they would be happy to see the 28-year-old return to the West Midlands.
