Aston Villa: Gabby Agbonlahor’s career analysed by fans - Aston Villa

Many Aston Villa fans have taken part in the latest social media debate on whether or not former striker Gabriel Agbonlahor was overrated or underrated.

The ex-striker spent the majority of his career with Villa, other than short term loan spells with Watford and Sheffield Wednesday.

A key figure for the Midlands outfit over the years, the Birmingham born frontman featured in no less than 322 Premier League appearances, netting 73 goals in the process.

Playing less and less during the club’s Championship campaigns of 2017/2018 and 2018/2019, Agbonlahor opted to retire from the professional game last March at the age of 32.

His time at club level saw him also gain recognition for the England national side, winning three international caps for the Three Lions.

Now often working as a pundit, the speedy ex-footballer has been discussed amongst Villa fans, with the majority claiming he was ‘underrated’ during his time as a professional.

Reacting to the debate via Twitter account @VillaTil1Die, Villa fans discussed Agbonlahor’s time on the pitch with one claiming he was particularly good under former manager Martin O’Neill.
