The Aston Villa fans who gathered around the jukebox in The Transfer Tavern this evening are discussing positive comments made by the club’s new owner.

CNN (quotes source from Football Insider) conducted an interview with Dr Tony Xia who stated the club would receive a record breaking amount of transfer funds this summer.

The new owner wants the club to have the best possible chance of an instant return to the Premier League following their meek relegation to the Championship last season.

The news will be music to the ears of many within Villa Park who in the last five miserable years under Randy Lerner have seen the club spend just £98 million, which included £55 million last summer.

“We have a deposit, more than £100m cash in an account in England, We aim to be promoted in one season”, roared Xia.

”That’s the major task for next season. We hope we can do it.”

Firstly, the Midlands giants will need to secure a manger, having been rejected by former Manchester United and Everton coach David Moyes recently.

The Aston Villa fans in The Tavern are delighted with Xia’s comments and are hopeful that the club will make the right recruitment choices with regards to players so they can get back amongst Englands’s elite as soon as possible.

Will Aston Villa earn promotion at the first time of asking?
